Journey to Bethlehem

THIS!!  Friday December 2nd

This is a fun event for the “Whole Family”!

We suggest you to take off work early, grab a bite to eat then come straight to Carroll School.  The bus will leave at 5 pm in order to avoid the long lines.

If you have never taken the Journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, this will be something you will never forget.

First we will visit the Wise Men & their camels, then deal with the Roman Soldiers; talk with the Shepherds and last but not least stop by the Inn and kneel at the Manger.

This is a guided “live” walking tour outside on uneven ground wear good shoes and warm clothing.  (Not Handicap Accessible).

Christmas Tree Lot

This Christmas Season, Oak Tree will be raising money for Children’s & Youth Ministries through selling Christmas trees.  We will be preselling trees, and running a Christmas Tree lot on our property.  The Lot opens November 25th at 10am.  Watch the Video Below to see how you can help us and also win some cool prizes.

The Tree lot will be open from November 25th, all the way until December 23rd (or we run out of trees).  If everyone in our church will buy one and sell one we can pre-sell enough trees to make sure we are in the black before we open the lot.  If you sell more there are some great prizes to win.

We also need volunteers to work at the Tree Lot, this is a great time to just meet people from the community, tell them about our church and invite them to Christmas events coming up at Oak Tree.  You can sign up to volunteer at church on Sundays.

BIG NEWS

Sunday November 6th, During our annual business meeting we announced that through our partnership with the North American Baptist Nor Cal Association we were able to pay off our land on Willard Parkway.

We have an approved development plan with the City of Elk Grove, and are ready to begin the process of building a permanent church in our corner of Elk Grove.  We will be announcing a capital campaign in 2012 to raise the needed funds to begin to build.

Thank you to all who have given sacrificially over the last 5 years and made the payoff possible.
